31 May 1857 - The inventory and appraisement of the estate of Edmund Shackelford, planter of Levy County, listed 4-1/2 bags (1800 lbs.) of Sea Island cotton which was valued at $5,411.00 and one bag (500 lbs.) of upland (long) cotton valued at $62.50. A claim in the amount of $248.86 was made
against the estate by William Pigman and Robert Tucker, co-owners of the Steamer Madison for transporting the cotton to market. In his will, Shackelford asked that his body be taken back to Autaugaville, Autauga County Alabama for burial.

04 April 1922 - The Levy County Board of County Commissioners voted to close all of the county`s schools for the remainder of fiscal year 1921 - 22 as the available funds would not justify continuing them further. Several private individuals stepped forward and loaned the county the money to keep the schools open until the close of the school year.

22 January 1957 - A delegation consisting of M.D. Andrews, Dr. Edwin Andrews, Mr. Robert Brent, Jr., Attorney H.S. Wilson, and Senator W. Randolph Hodges, came before the Board of County Commissioners and presented them with a map of the lands belonging to they would be willing to deed to the County if the County would agree to build a road leading west from S-347 Vista to the Lukens Road, and then to the Gulf. The delegation also agreed to deed from five to ten acres of usable land to be used for a park.The Commissioners agreed to the project and instructed their attorney, G.C. Perdue, Jr., to draw up a Resolution listing the road as #10 on the Secondary Road program for fiscal year 1956 - 57.
