The household collectibles that give us pleasure as decorative objects today were the tools of the trade for the turn-of-the-century homemaker. Though the latest in household efficiency at the time, most of the domestic items represented hard work. For the next several weeks, we will run pictures of several household gadgets. Last week`s gadget was identified as a "broiler" which sat on stones over coals in a fireplace. The broiler pictured was marked July 21, 1858.
