1843 - During the Second Seminole Indian War, the United States Government maintained a fort at the headwaters of the Wacasassa to barracks troops fighting Indians in the interior of the East Florida. The fort named Fort Wacassassa or Fort No. Eight was operational from March, 1839 until January 1843.

02 June 1905 - James Hancock of Montbrook filed a suit for damages in the amount of $125.00 against the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company. Hancock entrusted Atlantic Coast Line to carry from Montbrook to Williston a tool chest containing wrenches, Tongs, pipe cutters, chain fittings and other items used by Hancock in and about his business as a well driller. Not only did the rail line lose the tool chest but it also failed to honor Hancock's claim for repayment.

04 September 1945 - T.D. Rickenbaker, County Farm Agent filed his report for the month of August as follows: farm and home visits - 61; office calls - 105; telephone calls - 11; letters written - 55; press articles written - 2; bulletins distributed - 25; visits by specialist - 1; educational meeting held - 1; attendance at meeting held - 80; hogs vaccinated - 457; farms on which hogs were treated - 22; and miles traveled 1,600.
