Special Meeting Board County Commissioners, April, 9th 1914.

Whereas it appears from the records of this county that the expenses of caring
or the paupers of the county is approximately $244.50 per month or approximately
$3000.00 annually, including burial expenses, and it is the opinion of this
board that establishing a Poor Farm would lessen this expense to the tax payers
of our county.

Therefore, be it resolved by this Board in special meeting that a Poor Farm be
established for the purpose of taking care of the poor and unfortunate people of
our County and that notice be given asking for bids for prices on 40 acres of
suitable land for this purpose, within reasonable distance of the Court House.

And that it be resolved by the board that the Court House be fenced, provided
the cost of same will not exceed $400.00 completed, according to the style and
plans submitted by Mr. S.L. Bean, who is to furnish this Board with the exact
cost at its next regular meeting.
