26 February - Schooner Charles Carstairs, Beasington, Master from Mobile in ballast.

29 February - U.S.M. Steamship Atlantic, Hutchins, Master from Havana to E.H. Richards` Plantation.

01 March - Schooner Sea Drift, from Clear Water.

01 January 1887 - The Florida State Gazetteer and Business Directory listed the population of Levy County as 6,678 persons. At an election held in 1884 a total of 991 votes were cast, 654 Democratic and 337 Republican. The Gulf
Hammock, a tract of land of great fertility of some 100,000 acres, was capable of producing sugar-cane equal to the Louisiana bottoms and occupied the southern portion of the county. The county produced sugar-cane, rice, long staple cotton, vegetables, and semi-tropical fruits. The total valuation of real and personal property amounted to $1,174,560. The number of acres of improved and cultivated lands was 9,590 acres with a total of 499,954 acres assessed for taxes.

26 April 1951 - The following notice appeared in the Levy County Journal.

After nine months continuous duty in the Far East, Willie L. Jerrels, Seaman Apprentice, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Jerrels of Chiefland, Florida is "home". He returned to the United States recently aboard his ship, the destroyer USS Southland. The Southland participated in many engagements in
the Korean area including support fire at the Inchon invasion,shore bombardment of both coasts of Korea,blockade of Formosa, and as an anti-submarine screen for the fast carrier forces.
