17 December 1859 - The weekly U.S. mail line between Lake City, Cedar Keys, Bay port & Clear Water was advertised. The new and splendid, swift running, coppered and copper-fastened, low pressure Steamer Col. Cottrell, James F. Tucker, Master, is scheduled to leave Lake City every Friday at 7 o`clk A.M. and arrive at Cedar Keys Saturday morning. Passengers will ride 28 miles to New Boston on the Suwannee River in a first class passenger coach with the rest of the trip made by steamer. The steamer will touch at all intermediate landings on the Suwannee River.

15 May 1883 - Isaac S. Pedrick made application for a post office to be located in his store on Stafford`s Pond. He requested that the name of the post office be Vilasville but the US Postal Department rejected that name. The alternative name selected was Barco. Cotton and grain planters in the area included: F.W. Blitch, J.M. Hale, F.T. Hill, W.S. Humphrey, S.B. Murrill, James F. Pedrick, T. Pedrick, Joseph Plumber, W.H.H. Blitch, Peter Hale, J.K. Hill, G.D. Murrill, G.W. Pedrick, S.T. Pedrick, F.W. Peterson, G.W. Priest, Lawton Priest, Wiley Priest, A.B. Stephens, Henry Stephens, and S.B.W. Stephens. The post office was located south of present day CR 326 and west of US 41 near the Morriston area.

08 January 1951 - The Levy County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution designating that the funds received from the gasoline tax be used for the construction, re-construction, maintenance and repair of roads and bridges, the lease or purchase of bridges, the acquisition of right of way and the reduction of road and bridge indebtedness. First priority for the use of funds for 1951 was CR 335 from Williston to Lebanon Station; second priority was CR 339 from Trenton to Bronson; third priority was a road known as Hunter`s Trail from Morriston to the intersection of CR 335; and fourth priority was CR 347 from Lukens, near Cedar Keys, to Vista and intersect with CR 345 near Chiefland.
