07 August 1891 - Jim Jones filed a lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Levy County against the Schooner Water Lily. Jones made statement that he was owed the sum of One Hundred and Eighty-five dollars for work done and performed on the said Schooner as a common hand. Sheriff W.H. Bigham and his deputy, J.H. Sutton, were unable to serve the complaint as the Schooner Water Lily could not be found in the county.

06 May 1942 - Wilma R. Mitchell, Home Demonstration Agent for Levy County reported that Mr. Don Hall, representative from the Burpee Cooker Company, gave a demonstration in vegetable canning at the Gulf Hammock Hotel. This meeting was well attended. There were five communities represented. Mr. Hall checked cookers so that they would be ready for the canning season. There is much interest in home gardens and canning. Miss Thursby, the Conservation Specialist gave special gardening and canning instructions to the Chiefland Club. She gave herb plants to ladies who wished to start herb gardens.
