GTO Airboat Fishing Tournament Winners

Under clear skies and beautiful sunrise eager airboat fishermen kicked off the 14th Annual Great Time Outdoors (GTO) fishing tournament in Cedar Key. Following registration at the City Park, GTO contestants plowed through salty Gulf waters in search of an ideal fishing hole to begin an eight hour fishing frenzy. At the end of the day, thirty-one boats returned to the City Park`s sandy beach for weigh in and official tallies.


Beckham, Brown, Barber, Largest Bag Combination

Prizes ranging from one-thousand dollars for largest bag which consisted of one red fish and four trout mix (fish must meet size requirements) and two five-hundred dollar awards; one for largest Red fish and one for largest Trout.


Dean, Luffman, Eldridge largest Red

This year, Cedar Key fishing team of Beckham, Brown and Barber received a monetary prize of one-thousand dollars plus additional awards. Two five-hundred dollar checks were presented to Team Deedrick, Vostal and Wilson for largest Trout and Team Deen, Luffman and Eldridge won for largest Red fish. The Grand Prize, a two blade Sensenich Carbon-Fiber Propeller worth up to one-thousand-nine-hundred-seventy-five dollars ($1,975.00) was awarded to David Deen. In addition to first, second, third and grand prize winners, numerous door prizes were awarded to drawing entrants.
