Cedar Key Police Make Four Alcohol Related Arrests

Cedar Key police have made four alcohol related arrests recently. Two men were arrested for driving under the influence, one of which was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. A husband and wife were arrested for disorderly intoxication after a call for help from Frog`s Landing. Other charges were made against the couple according to police reports.


James M. Woffard, 28, of Vallonia, IN was stopped while driving an unlighted golf cart at 22:20 AM, October 16. He failed roadside sobriety tests, was taken to Levy County Jail, had alcohol breath tests at 0.079 and 0.89, and was charged with driving under the influence. Jason Michael Heifner, 27, of Cedar Key was arrested for driving under the influence following a speeding stop. Heifner failed roadside sobriety tests and breath alcohol tests at 0.170 and 0.155 at Levy County Jail. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.


Donald D. Baham, 44, of Gainesville was charged with disorderly intoxication and battery following a disturbance at Frog`s Landing the evening of October 23 according to a police report. Baham and his wife had been asked to leave by the bartender. Baham grappled with the bartender and was subsequently escorted from the bar, charged with disorderly intoxication and battery, and taken to Levy county Jail. Baham`s wife, Patricia Dennis Baham, 42, was arrested for disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest with violence. She was taken to Nature Coast Hospital for an attack of low blood sugar.
