Sheriff`s Corner

Levy Co. Sheriff`s Office

Hi everyone and welcome to the last Sheriff's Corner before the Holiday Season. This year has been a tough year for so many of you. I know some of you are coming into this season in a somewhat somber mood. The Hurricane season and the struggle to recover after this devastation has left so many still feeling the effects.

Also many have loved ones over-seas fighting the war in Iraq for our country. I truly hope that none of you have had the added anguish that comes when you are the victim of crime. If you have please know that your Sheriff's Office is working very hard to solve your crime, recover your property and produce cases that are very prosecutable.

During the past election season we learned of number of areas of concern you have and we're taking steps to address these areas and fix the problem. Rest assured we'll keep at it, and, I'll report progress in these areas to you all.

Lastly, remember to be careful as you shop. Please take care of your credit cards, driver's license's etc. Criminals are using cell phone cameras to capture your information. So keep a close watch. Also, using a "paper shredder" to destroy paperwork that has your important information is a good idea. It might even qualify as a last minute gift.

Please have a wonderful Holiday Season as we prepare for the new year and new opportunities.
