Sheriff`s Corner

Levy Co. Sheriff`s Office

Hello everyone and welcome to this week's Sheriff's Corner. As most of you know, we are currently investigating the murder of Jacob H. Langworthy. Most of you may also know that a number of arrests have been made in conjunction with that murder. Technically, professionally, a "good job" was done.

The reality though is that a young man is no longer with us. And five other lives are being changed forever. In addition, the families of everyone involved must go through the arrests and ultimate court proceedings. We are the investigating agency and the arresting agency but we are also your Sheriff's Office and must be a part of the process to do the right and proper things.

That means that I will be glad to answer questions to anyone who wants to know about the process in cases like this. I will be available to all involved when appropriate.

Our hearts and feelings go out to the family and friends of Jake Longworthy of course and we will always be willing to help. We also want the schools, students and Williston community to know that we will always be available to you. I hope that anyone needing help with this situation or anyone with questions will let us know. Your school Superintendent and School Board, the State Attorney's Office and your Sheriff's Office will remain available to you all as we move through this devastating time. Please, take care.
