RE: FEES HAVE RICH AROMA

Editor:

The fee for a variance is $50 in Otter Creek, $100 in Bronson and $150 in Levy County. The Cedar Key city attorney has proposed a fee of $950 for a variance, plus higher fees for other applications.

What will that mean to a clam farmer who wants a raceway, or a home owner who wants a small setback variance to build a fence?

The Cedar Key City Commission is being led by the nose. They need to wake up and smell the coffee. Their new fee schedule stinks of social engineering. It has a rich aroma, those who sweat need not apply.
