Letters to the Editor

January 2, 2008

When Andy and I came to Cedar Key, we didn't know what to expect. We walked into the Island Hotel and thought, "What a Grand Old Lady"! Learning that it was for sale, we decided to buy it. We knew nothing of the town or its' residents. Over the first few months of being open, so many folks came in to introduce themselves and welcome us to Cedar Key. I have felt from our first day here that the Island Hotel was the perfect home for us and that the people we have met here are such a big bonus. Never did we think there could be so many wonderful people in one little town of 750. On December 19th I had neurosurgery at Shands. Immediately afterward flowers began to arrive. So many phone calls and people stopping in to see how I was doing, followed. Calling the people of Cedar Key a bonus is an understatement. You are all so caring, loving, and thoughtful and I thank you for your prayers. They and you have given me the strength and the will to continue the fight.

Most sincerely,

Stanley Bair
