Letters to the Editor

Editor:

The three fine young men in the photo are my grandsons, all serving in the military. I am so proud of them; I wanted to share my pride with you.

Timothy Roszell (left) is a fine Marine, stationed in Maryland in the Instant Response Unit (which means he can respond to any emergency at a moment`s notice), and he will be deployed overseas sometime this year.

Jeremy Philabaum (center) is in the Navy, working on P-3 Orion aircraft planes and is stationed in Washington State. He is being deployed soon.

James Richburg (center) is in the Army and was deployed in December. He and his wife Amber presented me with my first great-grandson in March. Thanks to the video system on our cell phones, he will be able to see his first born before James Timothy turns a year and a half, because that is how long James will be overseas.

Tears come to my eyes when I look at them and how grown up they are. Of course, I think it wasn`t too long ago that I was watching them sleep in their baby cribs, saying to them, "What a wonder you are," and loving every moment of being a grandma.

I believed God would take care of them as they were growing up, and I will continue to believe God will take care of them as well as all our boys that are defending our freedom.

I love you James, Jeremy and Timothy, and I am proud to be your Grandmother.

Cheryl Philabaum
