Letter to Editor - "Emperor with no Clothes"

Buzz Healy

To The Editor,

I feel compelled to write this letter because I believe a hoax is being perpetrated on us, the American people. My position of knowledge for writing this is almost 30 years of active military service with a third of those years in operations centers, from Thailand, to Panama, to XVIII Airborne Corps at Ft. Bragg, NC, to Washington DC.

In all operations centers the personnel are on duty 24 hours a day following the activities of our armed forces, personnel and activities overseas. These centers receive reports constantly; follow activities and forward information to their commanders. Hot spots are identified and vigilance is maintained over those areas, contingencies for those areas are developed and updated constantly. Benghazi in Libya is a hot spot. The British closed their facilities in Benghazi as did the Red Cross. The US flag was literally the last flag standing.
Our government`s response to the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi is an example of poor decision making and an unbelievable attempt to cover up those bad decisions; both pre attack and post attack and most unbelievable of all this cover-up appears to be working.

Officials in operations centers from the US African Command, to the National Military Command Center in the Pentagon, to the White House Situation room knew immediately that the attack was a terrorist attack not a spontaneous demonstration. It was never a spontaneous demonstration. Mortars are not brought to spontaneous demonstrations. For over seven hours the attacks continued, reports were forwarded and requests for assistance made. This had to be known at all levels. I am as certain of this as I am of anything, because of my training and experience.

So why the spontaneous demonstrations story that persisted for over two weeks? My guess is that a decision was made at the highest level of government leadership, that it was not practical to provide assistance to those in Benghazi for either political or military considerations. That decision was followed by a second decision to hide the facts and therefore deceive the American public. I can think of no other or more logical explanation.

I am sadden, upset, and extremely disappointed in our government. This hurts more than 9/11/2001 because this is a great hoax on the American people, perpetrated by our government, and few seem to be demanding the truth. Do we really not see the Emperor with no clothes?
