A crowd of about 160 people gathered in City Park to remember the victims of the worst terrorist attack in American history. Following the minute of silence, local ministers spoke briefly, the Tri-county Marine Corp League performed a flag-raising ceremony and Carol Anne Kellin sang the national anthem a cappella and flawlessly.

He served in World War II in the Pacific Theater including North China at the end of the war.
