Eleven proud seniors received their diplomas Saturday during Commencement Exercises at Cedar Key School. The family-oriented ceremony was highlighted by seniors walking through the audience to present flowers to their parents and other family members.

Remarkable was the appearance of TWO sets of twins in the class of eleven.

Prior to the addresses by Valedictorian Jennifer Dibell and Salutatorian Benjamin Bainbridge, a slide show was presented featuring photos of each graduate from infancy through high school. A poignant part of the slide show was a memorial to classmate D.J. Emanuel, who died last year as the result of an accident.

An endearing moment occurred when graduating senior Hannah Gordon escorted her aunt, Susie Hodges, to speak to the group. Ms. Hodges, temporarily in a wheelchair due to a recent accident, faced the semi-circle of students much as she did in 1995, when they were first graders and she was in her first year as a classroom teacher.
