Commission Makes Quick Work of Agenda

Commission Makes Quick Work of Agenda

Jim Hoy

January 8 the City Commission whizzed through a ten item agenda with Vice Mayor Vanessa Edmunds presiding. Waste Pro's request for a fee increase was tabled. Greg Lang's resignation from the Local Planning Agency was unanimously rejected, at his request. Discussion of Sunset Isle RV Park setbacks was again withdrawn at the owner's request. Further information on the need for a bucket truck or outsourcing of services will be examined at a later meeting. And, a decision on where a horse-drawn carriage may park awaits an opinion from the State Fire Marshal.

Commissioner Sue Colson announced closure of the inner boat ramp at the Marina beginning January 22 until completion of construction in March. She asked that pleasure boaters give launching priorities to commercial vessels, and that all involved exercise patience.

Under Administrative Items, City attorney David Coffey announced that Gail Easley plans to no longer do review of development plans as currently contracted. She has recommended that Laura Dedenbach be her replacement. Mr. Coffey will determine Dedenbach's charges for service and report back to the Commission.
