Building Department Hires New Code Enforcement Officer | Building Department Hires New Code Enforcement OfficerJim Hoy The City of Cedar Key has a new Code Enforcement Officer. His name is Josh Wilson. Newly arrived from Charlotte, NC, he is originally from White springs, FL. His prior work experience is with a title insurance company where he worked with maps and searched titles. In March he will take a week of training and become certified in code enforcement by the Florida Institute of Government. Mr. Wilson told Cedar Key News that he is married and has two small boys. Furthermore, he is a fan of all sports. Josh wilson at his desk in the Cedar Key Building Department.

As a member of the city's Building Department, Wilson will work under the guideline of responding to specific complaints rather than patrolling in search of code violations. As a safeguard against unequal code enforcement, code violators will have the opportunity to point out violations by others. He anticipates publishing occasional articles so that the public is better informed about code requirements on such topics as sign restrictions, etc. |
