Lillian Alice Adlon


Lillian Alice Adlon of Cedar Key died Sunday, June 20,2004 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 74.


Mrs. Adlon was born October 31, 1929 in East McKeesport, P A. She retired to Cedar Key in 1991. She and her husband Russ began flying to Cedar Key in 1961 and decided to retire here, purchasing their retirement property in 1980. While they were constructing their home, often they camped on the property for extended periods of time, enjoying the nature their woods offered.


Mrs. Adlon was active in the Sierra Club for many years and enjoyed club outings in many locations throughout the United States. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Cedar Key Women`s Club, and Currytown Homemakers` Club. She assisted her husband in his activities with the Cedar Key Lions` Club and was a volunteer with SHARE, a food assistance program.


Mrs. Adlon is survived by her husband, Russell; a son, Charles Monahan; two daughters, Diane Mulcahy and Tonda Helgesson; and 7 grandchildren.


There will be no local services. Mrs. Adlon will be cremated and interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Key Lions Club. Arrangements are under the direction of the Veterans` Cremation and Burial Society in Clearwater.
