Obituary

Mary Cannon Hudson, "Big Granny", 103, of Chiefland passed away April 20, 2007 in Chiefland, FL. She was born in Levy County on April 24, 1903 to Berry and Mattie Cannon.

She lived in this area all her life, was a member of the Church of Christ and was a homemaker and farmer.


She is survived by Daughter In Law, Helen Orene Hudson, Chiefland; Sister, Lorene Cannon of Chiefland and Brother Bankston "Banks" Cannon of Gainesville, Special friend, Mary Cowart of Chiefland. One Grandson, 4 Great Grand-Children and 10 Great great-Grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her Husband, Shelton P. Hudson; and two Sons, Conrad and Phillip W. Hudson. 2 Sisters, Mae Cannon and Gladys Cannon; 3 Brothers Smith Cannon, Horrace Cannon, and Joe Cannon.


Graveside services will be at Chiefland Cemetery on April 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rufus Meriwether officiating. Viewing will be at the funeral home Monday, from 9-10 AM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Haven Hospice of the Tri-Counties, 311 NE 9th Street, Chiefland, FL 32626.
Hiers-Baxley Funeral Service, Chiefland is in charge of arrangements.
