Louise Hendrix Myers

Obituary

Louise Hendrix Myers, 96, died May 29, 2007, while she and her daughter were visiting family in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Born April 3, 1911 in Atlanta, Ga., she and her family moved to Daytona Beach in 1944. Louise lived in Ormond beach from 1946 until1988 when she moved to Bishop`s Glen, a retirement community in Holly Hill, Fl. In May, 2006, she moved to Cody, Wy., to be with daughter Barbara.

Louise was a charter member of the Ormond Beach Methodist Church and, in later years, a member of the Riverview Methodist Church in Ormond Beach. While in Cody she attended Christ Episcopal Church. Her ministry included support for those less fortunate and frequent visits to residents in assisted living and the nursing home at Bishop`s Glen. She was an active member of the Florida Federation of the Blind.

She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother with a zest for life and travel. Her banana pudding is legendary and she was unbeatable at checkers! She was preceded in death by husbands Maurice Hendrix Sr., Raymond Myers and brother, Edwin Braswell. She is survived by sons Maurice(Jan), Cedar Key, Robert (Pat), Gainesville and daughter Barbara Egan of Cody, Wy., nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one greart great grand-child.

A memorial service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Ormond Beach on June 23, 2007 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Florida Methodist Children`s Home, 51 Main St., Enterprise, Fl. 32725 (386) 669-4774.
