Obituary

Lucile Watson Rogers of Cedar Key passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in Cedar Key. She was 95 years old.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Cedar Key on May 30, 1912 to Joseph E. and Mattie V. Watson. She graduated from Cedar Key High School, attended Florida State College for Women and then graduated from Florida Southern College.

She married Clifton Bertl Rogers, also of Cedar Key, in 1935. He predeceased her in 1981. She taught school for 36 years in Cedar Key and Wildwood. She was a member of Cedar Key United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Cedar Key Woman`s Club.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by her daughter, Sonya Rogers Judy, son-in-law, Richard H. Judy of Cedar Key, and two granddaughters and their families - Dace and Russell Ashcraft and their children Alexandra, Caroline and Carter of Darien, CT; Jolie and Heath Davis and children Lauren and Sarah Bartholemy of Cedar Key.

Visitation will take place Saturday, November 3, 2007 from 4-6 p.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1301 N. Young Blvd in Chiefland.

Services will be held Sunday, November 4, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Key United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cedar Key United Methodist Church, P.O Box 338, Cedar Key, FL 32625 or to Haven Hospice of the Tri Counties, 311 NE 9th Street, Chiefland, FL 32626.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services of Chiefland.
