Ted Strange

Obituary

Ted Strange, 49, of Cedar Key, died December 19, 2008 at home. The beloved son of Rebecca Strange and the late Ken Strange, also of Cedar Key, Ted was a gifted artist; a poet, songwriter, singer, musician, and cartoonist, as well as an early experimenter in video and performance art.

Born on March 31, 1959, in Middletown, CT, and graduated from the Hammonasset School in Madison, CT, he was well known in New Haven, CT, and in Gainesville, FL, performing original music with his band, Ted Strange and his Orchestra, as well as contributing his talents to and collaborating with other musicians.

Ted is survived by his mother, Rebecca, sisters Susan, Lisa and Ruby, and his dog, Fender. He is sadly missed.

Ted will be remembered at a graveside gathering at the Cedar Key Cemetery on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Friends of the family are invited to attend.
