Obituary

Robert J. "Rob" Robertson, 68, of Cedar Key and Big Canoe, GA passed away March 27, 2009 in Cedar Key. Born in Chicago, IL he has been in Cedar Key for 4 years. He was Administrator of Special Education for Goshen, IN., school systems. Mr. Robertson consulted for the Special Education Program for the State of Indiana for several years. He graduated from Goshen High School and earned a masters degree from Indiana State University. He was a docent at the Cedar Key Historical Society and member of the Cedar Key Lions Club. He received the Sagimore of Walbash Award, presented by the Governor for Outstanding Accomplishment. He had a love for life and the people around him and he enjoyed fishing. Mr. Robertson was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.


He is survived by his wife, Sheila Robertson of Cedar Key, daughters Darcy (Robert) Griffin of Indianapolis, IN, Renee (Robert) Maddux of Roswell, GA, son Jason Robertson of Indianapolis, IN, and sister June Vannoster of Goshen, IN and 7 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Beifuss.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Cedar Key Lions Club. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cedar Key Historical Society 7070 D Street Cedar Key, FL. 32625.
