Obituary

Gary E. Richburg age 72 of Cedar Key, FL passed away on July 20, 2010.


He was born on January 24, 1938 in Cedar Key, FL to Eddie and Myrl Richburg.

He was a life long resident of Cedar Key, Fl and was a member of the Church of Christ in Cedar Key, FL. He was a 32nd Degree Mason; he served in the United States Navy as a Quartermaster. He worked as a fireman for the Cedar Key and Gainesville Fire Departments. He also worked for the Alachua County Sheriff Department along with the University Police Department for the University of Florida. He was a member and charter member of the Cedar Key Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4194 for 20 years; he also served as a former State President for the Order.


He is survived by his mother Myrl Richburg; wife Kay Richburg; daughter Glenda Richburg; granddaughter Amanda Richburg and great grandsons Joseph and Christian Kilpatrick.


Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Cedar Key Cemetery with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4194 officiating.


The family asks that in Lieu of flowers that donations be made to Haven Hospice 311 N.E. 9th Street Chiefland, FL 32626.


Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland.
