Patricia Smith

Obituary

Patricia Smith of Cedar Key passed away on January 23, 2011. She was 73 years old.


She was born on August 20, 1937 in Portola, CA to Dewey and Mertie Hastings. She was of the Catholic faith but attended church at the Christ Episcopal Church of Cedar Key. She moved to Cedar Key in 1989 from Kentucky with her husband Robert B. Smith.


She was the owner of a book store in Cedar Key for many years. She volunteered her time at the Cedar Key Public Library, also serving on the county-wide Library Advisory Committee. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and needle point.


She is survived by her sister Zoie Raney and her husband Carmelo Cantore, 2 nephews, 1 great niece, 1 great nephew and 1 great-great nephew. A graveside service will be held on January 31, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl with Pastor Jim Wright officiating. She will be interred next to her husband who passed away in 1991.

The family plans on holding a memorial service on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 10:00 am at Christ Episcopal Church of Cedar Key with Father Jim Wright officiating.

Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland.
