Obituary

Ilene Leathia Campbell, 88, of Cedar Key, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011. She was born June 11, 1923 in West Lake Wales, to Henry Burroughs Haven and Gussie Belle Haven.


During WWII she worked at Warner Robins Air Force base assembling airplanes and parachutes. After WWll she moved to Cedar Key. She was a member of the Cedar Key United Methodist Church. She enjoyed walking, gardening, boating, fishing, and being outdoors.

She is survived by her sons, John Campbell, Phillip (Shirlene) Campbell, Steve Campbell and William Campbell; daughters, Elaine (Joe) Rains and Sylvia (AJ) Brown; daughter-in-law, Rose Campbell; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Varnell Campbell; son, Wesley Campbell; and great-grandson, Dylan Stewart.


Visitation was Monday, Oct. 24 at Knauff Funeral Home, Chiefland. Graveside services were Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Key Cemetery, with Rev. Sarah Campbell officiating. Burial followed.


Arrangements were under the care of Knauff Funeral Home, Chiefland.
