Miss Betty Walker, Executive Director of LARC, addresses the Cedar Key Lions Club

ANNOUNCEMENT

Miss Betty Walker, Executive Director of LARC, addresses the Cedar Key Lions Club on Tuesday, Oct 25 to thank the Lions for their financial support and to remind the community of the fundraising needs of LARC.

LARC`s ability to serve its clients has been severely hampered by state and federal government cutbacks in support for people in need of programs such as those that LARC provides.

LARC provides an important service to people in Levy County with severe mental or other related developmental and physical disabilities.

LARC`s furniture stripping and restoring enterprise as well as their recycled rag program provide jobs and activities for some of our most challenged citizens.

In addition to job training, basic daily living skills and self-care skills such as making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, knowing how to dial 911, what to do when you are lost, and other simple tasks that we all take for granted improve the lifestyles of the people LARC serves while promoting self-worth and confidence.

You can support LARC`s work with our most challenged citizens by sending your donation to: LARC, P.O. Box 86, FL 32683 Tel: (352) 486-4293.
