08 July 1952 - Mr. L.W. Drummond, with a delegation of members of the Cattlemen`s Association of Levy County, came before the Levy County Board of County Commissioners and stated that the members of the Association had recently met with the Gilchrist and Dixie County Cattlemen`s Associations and the group made tentative plans to organize a Tri-County Cattle Show to be held in October. The Organization was desirous of purchasing a location near Fannin Springs and erecting suitable buildings and fencing in order that the three counties could participate in the Fat Cattle Show each year. A committee was appointed to contact the County Commissioners in each county to solicit funds to assist in defraying the expenses of the project. After considering the matter, the Commissioners agreed to appropriate $1,000 or possibly $1,500 in the new budget to be used for this purpose.
