Local Society to Compile Pictorial History of Levy County and it`s People

Do you have old photographs of your family, family events, or Levy County landmarks? Would you like to share those photographs and have them included on a pictorial CD of photographs of people and places in Levy County?

Then the members of the Levy County Historical and Genealogical Society are looking for you! During the months of September and October, Society members have volunteered to scan photographs to be included in a series of CDs. When the CDs are compiled, they will be offered for sale with the proceeds going to purchase research materials for the Archives and History Center of the Levy County Clerk`s Office. The CDs will make an unusual gift or remembrance for family and friends.

So that everyone has an opportunity to have their photographs included, we have tried to make sharing your photographs easy. The project volunteers will be at various locations around Levy County so you can select a location, date, and time that is most convenient for you. Then bring your photographs to the location and the volunteers will scan the photographs and you will take them home with you. We will not keep your original photographs.

A complete schedule of the dates, times and locations will be published in all of the local newspapers in the next several weeks with the first date of collection of photographs planned for Tuesday, September 16th from 8:00 until Noon in the Levy County Courthouse Lobby, 355 Court Street, Bronson.
