Looking for Old Photographs

Looking for Old Photographs

Toni Collins

The Levy County Genealogy and History Society is looking for old photographs to include in a CD of Levy County people and places. Several volunteers will be set up in the County Commissioners Meeting Room of the Levy County Courthouse in Bronson on Tuesday, September 16th from 8:00 AM until Noon to scan photographs. All photographs will be scanned and returned immediately.

If you are unable to bring your photographs to the Courthouse on September 16th, volunteers will accept photographs again on Saturday, September 27th from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Bronson Public Library, 600 Gilbert Street, Bronson.

When compiled, the CD will contain up to 800 remembrances of Levy County people and places. A descriptive guide to the photographs will be included on the CD giving information about the photograph, its contents and the name of the submitter.

Volunteers will be available to scan pictures at a variety of locations around the county during October and November. Watch you local newspaper for a date and location convenient to you and bring your photographs to be included in this commemorative CD.

For more information call Cindy Jo Ayers, 486-2312; Dix Stephens, 447-2966; or Toni Collins, 528-0102.
