Out Past the Keys

Capt. Dan

Not way out, not deep sea, but beyond Snake Key aproximately two and a half miles to a shallow area called `Chris Knox`. It`s just a couple of sand bars that show up above the surface of the water at low tide. There is a grassy bottom all around the area. It`s an underwater gathering spot for fish to get a bite to eat.

April 24th spanish mackerel and speckled trout were there eating all the small bait fish swarming around the grassy bars. It was one of those special days when the winds were light and the water didn`t have a ripple on it as far as you could see. I had a group from Pennsylvania aboard my pontoon boat.

For 3 hours I ran from the bow to the stern netting fish and rigging lines and hooks and taking pictures. Everyone caught multiple big macs and trout. There is a picture of Ray with 1 of his trout and a pic of Cory with a mackerel. Folks, the fish are biting real good around the Cedar Key area.

I`m still having to cancel trips because of high winds, but now and then we get 1 of those days where it all lines up just right, and then it`s such a pleasure to float along and angle for a few fish that all of you can eat for dinner that evening. Call me and lets go..352-221-5463 thanks, Capt. Dan
