Sheriff`s Corner

Sheriff`s Corner

Levy Co. Sheriff`s Office

Hi everyone and welcome to the Sheriff's Corner. I'd like to take this space this week to talk to you about the men and women of your Sheriff's Office. Last week we talked about internal investigations and while I was involved with the column I started thinking about the positive aspects of the people who work here. I find that as a Sheriff, I'm extremely fortunate to have a truly wonderful group of people working here in Levy County. I put it that way because they realize that although I'm "the Sheriff", they work for you, the citizens of Levy County.

I also started thinking about some of the reasons people decide to choose law enforcement as a career. This is a hard business and hard on the families of the men and women who serve. I started thinking about the days when if a new Sheriff was elected, people could loose their job suddenly being uprooted and having to start a new job or career.

Recently, I had the opportunity to promote some very deserving people here at the Sheriff's Office. Obviously these employees weren't the first people we've promoted nor will they be the last. My point is that your Sheriff's Office has many experienced, dedicated and loyal men and women. Their careers are a testament to the constant dedication they exhibit in doing their jobs for all of you.

I'm extremely proud of everyone here at the Levy County Sheriff's Office and thankful that I get to work with them. I hope all of you are also.
