Letters to the Editor

I want to thank all of the many supporters who worked so hard for the Stan Griffis for State Attorney Campaign over the past year. Running for this office has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. While I fell short in winning a majority of the votes cast in the Eighth Judicial Circuit, the election focused attention on many important issues confronting the State Attorney's Office and our communities. This is a healthy part of our democratic process.

To the thousands of wonderful people I met over these many months, thank you for your time and courtesy in speaking to me. I am also deeply humbled by the support shown by the 67,298 voters of Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Gilchrist, Levy, and Union counties who supported my candidacy for State Attorney. Your support is greatly appreciated and is not taken for granted.

I congratulate State Attorney Bill Cervone for his successful re-election to that office. Mr. Cervone, several members of his staff, and other supporters worked very hard on his campaign. I respect and admire the effort they provided on his behalf.

I wish Bill Cervone and his staff much success during the next term.

Stan Griffis,
Alachua, Florida
