Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor;

While looking at the nifty new CK website (by the way- Congratulations!), I noticed several letters in support of police activities at CK. Recently my family visited on a Saturday evening for sightseeing, a beautiful sunset and a superb fresh fish dinner, as we have done regularly for many, many years.

When returning to our car in the dark on Dock Street, a young man ran past us, bent over and slashed 2 tires on a parked car before running toward the park. My wife is now reluctant to remain in CK after dark, and since I do not always carry a large caliber handgun, so am I. This appears to go beyond rowdy behavior into the felony region. Perhaps CK city officials could affect such behavior: I hope so.

Sincerely,
David A. Carlson
Gainesville
