The sixteen members of the Cedar Key High School class of 2005 wore grins as they proceeded down the aisle of the Cedar Key School gymnasium. A few tears fell as well, perhaps in response to Saturday morning's Commencement Address which spoke of closing a chapter and facing a new beginning. William "Zach" Hollifield took the top honor as class valedictorian, having posted a grade point average of 3.8. He also received multiple scholarship awards. Sean Bradley Bible was named class salutatorian, with a grade point average of 3.5. Zach Hollifield, the son of Bruce and Mary Marshall, will attend Central Florida Community College, with a goal of proceeding to Florida State University in engineering. He received Subject Area awards in six disciplines and participated in four sports at Cedar Key High. He also was awarded several thousand dollars in scholarships. Salutatorian Sean Bible, son of Cheryl Allen and Patrick Bible, has begun his professional training as a gemologist, and is aiming at a degree as a Graduate Gemologist. Sean took a special interest in aquaculture while at Cedar Key High School. From the traditional presentation of flowers by the graduates to their parents, to the joyous mingling after the Recessional, the participation of the community in the education of its children accounted for the grins and tears of joy. 2005 Grad John Brandon Fisher greets his great grandmother Frances Andrews
