Otter Creek Tractor Accident Injures Child

Otter Creek Tractor Accident Injures Child

Levy Co. Sheriff`s Office

On October 15, 2007 the Levy County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call at 6:10 P.M. in reference to a tractor accident at 2650 Ellzey Ave. Otter Creek.

The caller stated that a six year old child accidentally fell off a tractor and sustained serious head injuries.

EMS arrived on the scene and rendered medical treatment while deputies secured a landing zone for Shands Care helicopter at the Levy County Association Retarded Citizens. Due to the age of the victim, the child's name will not be released.

Investigator Lauree Allen is investigating this case as an accident, with no foul play suspected. The investigation continues but at this time it appears that the child was riding on the tractor with his father when he accidentally fell off the tractor and the rear tire ran over the child.
