Dog Grooming Made Easy

Dog Grooming Made Easy

Jim Hoy

Does your dog need a trim and shampoo? Shirley Carpenter has just what you need, and she can come to your door to take care of it all. The newest service available in Cedar Key is a mobile dog salon.

Shirley Carpenter cuddles her dog Destiny beside her mobile dog grooming salon.

Shirley Carpenter owned and operated a grooming parlor near Ithaca, NY for fifteen years before her recent move to rural Levy County. She also has years of experience training dogs and putting them through their paces in AKC shows. She has experience with Boxers, shepherds and shelties.

In January, under the catchy name "You Dirty Dog," Ms. Carpenter began parking her van in Cedar Key and at Cypress Station on Wednesdays for drop-in visits for dog care. She is also available for home visits the rest of the week. Her van is equipped with a large bathtub suitable for all but very large dogs. The pulsing shampoo device is a special treat for the most discerning canine. Air conditioning and mood music are part of the mobile spa. Finnishing touches such as hair ribbons and painted toenails are available. Appointments can be made by calling 352-586-3413.
