CITY OF CEDAR KEY ANNUAL DRIVE-IN HURRICANE DAY - HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY

Preparation for 2013 hurricane season, which runs from June 1 through December 1, a full six-months, is critically important to everyone. The City of Cedar Key hopes to help you prepare and plan for any upcoming event by: providing residents a safe location to dispose of hazardous wastes that could damage our environment if not contained during a wind or flood event; providing information about securing propane tanks, supplies to have on hand, and many more helpful items.

WHEN? THURSDAY, MAY 30, 2013
HOURS? 9 AM UNTIL 1 PM
WHERE? CEDAR KEY MARINA PARKING LOT IN FRONT OF THE FIRE STATION
WHO? CITY OF CEDAR KEY AND CLEAN HARBORS

A MUST! YOU MUST BRING YOUR CEDAR KEY RE-ENTRY PASS OR CURRENT GARBAGE/WATER BILL TO DROP OFF WASTE

ENJOY FREE LEMONADE AND HOT DOGS . . . WHILE THEY LAST
DROP-OFF SERVICE IS PROVIDED
YOU NEVER HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR CAR!

Collect and bring your hazardous household wastes to the parking lot in front of the Cedar Key Fire Station on Thursday, May 30. Hazardous household wastes are leftover products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive ingredients. Oils, paints, cleaners, batteries, pesticides, name but a few.
Others follow.

- Automotive products: gasoline, motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid
- Pesticides: insect repellent, weed killer, rat poison, flea collars, disinfectant
- Cleaning products: furniture polish, ammonia, bleach, toilet bowl cleaner
- Other products: pool chemicals, lighter fluid, prescription medicines, varnish, stain

Improper disposal of these products will pollute our waters and our lands and will pose a threat to human and animal health. Please, do your part and use this convenient resource.
