Saturday, December 7th was the opening of not one, but two phenomenal exhibits at the Cedar Key Arts Center (above the Keyhole on 2nd Street).

The main salon area offered works by students from Florida State University's Master of Fine Arts Program. Seven students participated in the exhibit, with works ranging in diversity and style from sculpture to photography to oil painting.

"red" (ink jet photography) by Amy Gorman

Landscape # 2 (oil on canvas) by Darren Crull

The second gallery area displayed the works of local artists participating in the annual "Rock the Boat" competition. The works of these talented artists demonstrate varied styles, materials and concepts of the exhibit's theme.

The winners of the competition were:

First Place – Kevin Hipe
Second Place – Joy Witman
Third Place – Dennis Littleton

1st Place winner Kevin Hipe

2nd Place winner Joy Witman

3rd Place winner Dennis Littleton

Both exhibits will continue through the month of December.
