Cedar Key Fire Chief Robert Robinson reported to the City Commission meeting on July 19 regarding the successful fireworks display put on by the volunteer firefighters. The event was funded at a cost of $12,350 that was raised by the Chamber of Commerce. The display lasted forty-eight minutes. Chief Robinson praised the Cemetery Point Park site as the easiest and safest that has been used. He added that traffic flow after the event was good. Many who came to watch parked in the vicinity of State Route 24, thereby making departure easy.

The audience and Commissioners gave Chief Robinson a round of applause for the job done by the Fire Department.
