07 January 1953 - Mr. W.B. Patterson of Gulf Hammock came before the Levy County Board of County Commissioners and asked that a speed limit of 25 miles an hour be set on the old Peek Fish Camp road (present day John Yearty Road) since the road is very narrow and the bushes have grown up on the shoulders of the road.

A motion was made by Commissioner Yearty, seconded by Commissioner Gilbert that signs be bought and erected on said road setting the speed limit at 25 miles per hour. The Board also agreed to cut the bushes and over-hanging limbs along said County road as soon as possible.
