Remembering Frank Small

Remembering Frank Small

Editor

Robin, it is of interest that the late Frank Small, a former resident of Cedar Key was the leader, then as president of the Lions Club, who started and managed the CK EMS service and kept all of the records, both administrative and financial for many years. He did all of the billing, the collecting from Medicare and other sorts of insurance, the buying and everything to make it work. Frank went about this huge community project with the humility of a saint. Saintly he did not believe in, but he certainly fulfilled the role. He organized the not for profit which was responsible for organizing the EMS service and operating it until only a couple years ago when his health forced he and Rae to move to Gainesville. When they moved, the service was integrated into the Levy County program. Frank died last year. We scattered his ashes in the Gulf of Mexico where he loved to be.
