Thank You to the Firefighters of Levy County

Thank You to the Firefighters of Levy County

Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor:

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the partnership between the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. MDA is deeply grateful to fire fighters and emergency personnel in Levy County for their tremendous support of our efforts.

Members of IAFF Local Fire Departments help Levy County residents with neuromuscular diseases through special events, including their Fill-the-Boot campaign to gather contributions for MDA's lifesaving and life-enhancing programs.

I hope everyone in Levy County will acknowledge these heroes' ongoing support of families MDA serves. As MDA's largest national sponsor, the IAFF helps us maintain our research and health care programs, including local MDA clinics.

Thanks to the IAFF, more than 4,000 of "Jerry's kids" across the country have a great time at MDA summer camps, such as the weeklong camp at Camp Love in Live Oak, Florida

Please join me in congratulating fire fighters on a job well done. We're counting on them to help find cures for muscular dystrophy and other muscle-wasting diseases.

Sincerely,

Susan King Poole
Regional Director
