Cedar Key War Memorial

Cedar Key War Memorial

Jim Hoy

A wreath beside the veteran's memorial at Cedar Key's City Hall draws the attention of all passers by that our small town has sent many citizens to aid our country in time of war. A total of 152 names are listed for service during World War II. Seventy-seven more names are listed for service in the Korean War. Forty-six names of those who served in Viet-Nam are also on the memorial. Stars beside the names commemorate those who lost their lives.

There are many who have served during war time prior to settling in Cedar Key. They too deserve recognition for their service to our country.
