Billie Lynne Westcott Carlton, of Cedar Key, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 67. Born in Millville, New Jersey, she moved to Florida in 1970 and from Gainesville to Cedar Key in the 1980`s. She was employed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at the Senator George Kirkpatrick Marine Lab, retiring in 2011. She was a loyal member of the First Baptist Church of Cedar Key and an active volunteer in the community and the Lion`s Club. She is cheerfully remembered for serving as Marshall for the Seafood Festival Parade. She is survived by her husband Harold L. Carlton, Cedar Key; sister Mertie Polise and brother Butch Westcott both of Millville, NJ; daughters Dana Peterman, Douglas, GA and Andrea Thompson, Brooklyn, MI; son Jake Carlton, Newberry, FL and grandchildren, Jake, Brooke,Logan, Casey, Katlyn and Jacob. The service for Billie Carlton will be on Saturday, March 17 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Key, FL. |
