Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge

THE GREAT SUWANNEE RIVER CLEANUP
SATURDAY DEC. 4TH-10:00 AM

Spearheaded by the Current Problems Organization, the Great Suwannee River Cleanup is off and running! On December 4th, starting at 10:00 a.m. from three locations, the Friends and staff of the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge with the help of other organizations, will complete the cleanup of the last portion of the River from Camp Azalea/Yellow Jacket to the Gulf.

Mark your calendar and spread the word to anyone who would like to join the cleanup. There are jobs for folks to work on land at the staging areas to pass out materials and to weigh trash collected. If you have a boat whether large or small that you can bring, let us know. Because the tide will be low most of the time of our cleanup, we will be able to collect on land as well as from the water.

To participate, please contact Ranger Pam Darty 352-493-0238 ex. 223. For planning, we need a rough count of who will participate. Current Problems will provide T-shirts for participants. The Friends Group will provide water and snacks.
