3-D Show at Arts Center

3-D Show at Arts Center

The first 3-D Art Show at the Cedar Key Arts Center opened Saturday, February 4. Sixty-nine entries from 49 artists were displayed.

Approximately 100 people attended the gala opening reception to view the art and visit with the artists. Entries were judged by Cedar Key resident and master ceramist Henry Gernhardt, a retired professor of art from Syracuse University in New York.

Winners were: First Place ($100) "Whoo-Ahh!" by Marty Howbert, Second ($50) Abstract Painting as 3-D Art by Renna Brock, Third ($25) Basket by Sandra Buckingham.

Honorable Mentions went to "Blue Baby" by Connie Nelson, "Cedar Key Temptress" by Bill McNamara, "Mirror" by Deanna Wirth and "Primordial Romance Darwinian Dalliance" by Jack Robinson.

The show will continue through the month of February at the Cedar Key Arts Center Upstairs Gallery, above the Cedar Keyhole.
