A Multitude of Artistic Opportunities are available at the Cedar Key Arts Center in November

Gallery Openings/Shows

Cedar Key Arts Center Member Gallery November Opening on Saturday, November 5 from 5-7 p.m. will feature the artistic work of Libby Cagle. Libby is a life long Florida resident who moved to the Cedar Key area in 2008. She creates art in several media including watercolor, oil, monotype and mosaics. This exhibit will include art works of scenes from her travels, near and far. More of her work can be viewed at libbysart.com and at Island Arts in Cedar Key.


Main Gallery will be opening at the same time with a show of the works of Bill Roberts. He has been painting for over 60 years. His wonderful paintings will bring back memories of local scenery and the old houses, boats, and cars that used to dot the landscapes. Join us for these two great exhibits.

November Workshops at Cedar Key Arts Center


Nov. 3rd and weekly through Dec. 15 from 6-7:30 p.m. Lifelines and Personal Panoramas with Alexandria Zettler. Participation is limited, cost free. Call 352-543-9920.


Nov. 6 and 7: Monotype Printing with Libby Cagle. Workshops are from 10-4. Cost $60 for members, $65 for non-members. The focus will be on creating textures. Call 352-543-5232.


Nov. 12 from 9:30-12:30 Piguette Assiette Wreath with Marsha Swartz. Participants will create a wreath using broken china and found objects. All materials will be provided. Cost $40 for members, $45 for non-members. Call 352-543-0521.


Nov. 16 Chuck McDonell will teach how to cut glass for your art projects. Time is 10-1. Cost $33 for members, $38 for non-members. Call 352-543-5670 by Nov. 2nd.

Salons and Studios


Sunday Art Salons will begin at 3 p.m. and be held on the first, third and fifth Sundays through March. Many salons will be composition/critique sessions and some salons will include demonstrations and/or discussions. November special topics will include Monotype Printing on Nov. 6 with Libby Cagle and November 20 topic is Composition/Critique.


Beginning November 18 and every third Friday a Still Life Open Studio will be available from 10-5. Sandra Allen will host most sessions.
